Fran Riggins Cape, a native of Easley South Carolina, was crowned Miss Easley in 1973 and
Miss South Carolina.
Fran served as Chairperson for the South Carolina March of Dimes in 1975 and was chosen as one of the Outstanding Young Women in America in 1975.
While attending Clemson University Fran was crowned
Miss
S.C. and took a one year sabbatical from her studies in order to fulfill her obligations in this role.
Following this one year obligation to the state Fran was awarded a full scholarship to
Oral Roberts University in Tulsa OK based on her musical talents where she completed her studies in Elementary Education with a minor in English.
After her education, Fran moved to New York City where for 12 years she modeled and traveled nationwide for an exclusive European clothing line. Upon her return to South Carolina, Fran developed the position of Marketing Director for
Greenville Radiology and served in that capacity for 8 years followed by developing the Marketing Directorship and serving in that capacity for Atlanta Radiology.
Fran’s most recent endeavor has been with the Commons of Easley where she was involved in administration, sales and marketing.
Fran brings a very wide and diverse array of talents and experience to the Easley Chamber of Commerce.
Fran is the daughter of Easley natives Gene and Jean Riggins and is married to Easley native Stan Cape who is with Ryobi Technologies in Pickens. She has two sons Edwin and Philip. Edwin recently completed his studies in Banking and Finance and graduated from Pace University in New York City and Philip is currently a student at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach FL.
The family resides in Burdine Springs, Easley.
